Why the Orthodox religion is playing no role in the mod's story? Some interesting quests can be made here, especially if ya want exploit the monastic brotherhood. For example,a Greek noble, protected by the Doge of Venice,is captured by a marquis who wants to send him to the nearest abbey to be tortured(I'm exagerating a bit),in order to end his conflict with the church. If you talk to the Consule of Venetia,ya will receive the task to bring the prisoner safe to the city.If you ask the priest in the abbey'chapel,ya will receive the task to take the prisoner and deliver him safe and sound to the monks. It could be brought in, but I would have to expand the role of Venice first. At the moment, they're neutral & aloof from the civil war and have no political role. I have a strong urge to make Venice more active, and probably will eventually, but I'm trying to discipline myself for now and get the rest right first before bringing in a whole new faction.

Another suggestion,a bit cruel. Why don't we make a quest(or a series of quests) involving a toture chamber? I found quests like "capture 3 Ghib horsemen" and I think of creating a torture chamber in major cities(Milan and Pavia) to offer you the possibilities to continue the quest. For example,ya captured 1 Ghib knight and delivered him to Milan. There a funny torture chamber awaits you to interogate your prisoner. If Khalid thinks it can be done,I will do the dialogues(and maybe find some adequate sounds for a better atmosphere ).

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really find the "fetch me 6 of <random armor/helmet/weapon>" quests monotonous, because you can typically only get the items from the dealers in the cities, and it takes a while to find enough. Why not replace the random items with specific items of the enemy faction? So, for example, as a Ghib, you'd be sent out to fetch 6 Guelf armors, or 4 Guelf shields or something like that. This way, instead of forcing the player to scrounge around the towns to try and find the one obscure item they're missing to complete the quest, it forces the player to attack the enemy faction's troops to get the items. You could even dress it up as a "bring me back this stuff to prove you've killed our enemies" thing, rather than the "we need to equip our men" deal.
Edit: At the same time, you'd probably want to remove the faction-specific armor and shields from the town dealers, so the player doesn't just go town to town to find them, like with the random items. Instead, when you reach a high-enough rank within the faction, the armor and shield of your faction should be given to you when you get the promotion.

Maybe you're needed to remove a "problem" of a man but he's friends with some of your allies, so you have to attack their group on the battle map and then avoiding killing any one other then the "problem" once he's dead you can flee the field. If you just knock him out or kill someone else you fail or something.

Perhaps a quest from a count to hire the help of a condottiere and invade a town/castle.

Maybe the Count wants you to protect and deliver his love letters to a princess or something?
