Is cittadine the correct word? Because cittadine to me seems that it's the plural feminine form for Cittadino which would be the neutral singular form... but maybe it's an older form that you have there,

He's mocking the Italian illiterate among us. Civis, civis I could pick out. Cittadine? Psh, might as well give up now.

Heh, heh. You guys are right. I have only a rudimentary reading knowledge of Italian. I realize now that I pinched "cittadine" from a written text which was using it as an adjective, not a noun. So Cittadino it shall be. If anyone wants a Cittadina, let me know.
