Khalid, .800 is out now. I suggest you check it out.
The game itself has recieved a nice graphical overhaul.
The faces have recieved some improvements, mainly new hair and beard styles that are closer to some of the old ones in .730. (for instance, full beards and balding heads)
I've looked through all the new objects in the scenes, and you've got a lot of new middle eastern buildings, that'll look quite italian in a pinch. For instance, there's a mosque which, given a bit of retexturing, would make a nice Doge's palace.
Voices are still pretty much the same as they were in .751, but you can still delete the ones that sound too foreign. (such as the 'I cannae afford a nuu pair o' buuts' dialogue)
There are some stability issues at the moment with the game, but that can be expected of a major version release.
But bugs such the vertex static buffer error are long gone. (actually it's been gone for as long as .750). To me, this fact alone warrants converting to the latest version because you can have large numbers of characters in a battle at once.
One interesting new feature, is that more than two parties can participate in a battle at the same time. If there's a battle between, say, manhunters and pirates, another pirate or bandit party can join in and add their forces to the battle. I've seen battles of 5 river pirate parties vs 2 manhunter parties before.
The obvious consequence of this is that it'll completely change the campaign battles. Instead of 13 seperate fights, you'll see one or two massive battles involving the vast majority of them. In my eyes, that's an improvement, although what that entails for capturing counts and such, has yet to be seen.
Oh, and also, the new in-game editor can also edit the height of hills in the scenes, and also change the texture on that space to something different, say, dirt or cobblestones. Which means there's no more need to make those giant square blocks.
